John Philip Sousa, The Menace of
Mechanical Music The latest addition
to our archive of classic texts in phonographic history is the
March King's famous 1906 essay in which he popularized the
phrase canned music -- although he didn't coin the
term, which had already been used by O. Henry in the 1903
short story "The Phonograph
and the Graft." Phonozoic's version is unabridged
and comes complete with nine amusing
illustrations!
